Sunday I spoke with Paris Broemer of the Southern Comfort Camp. I ambushed him with my camera and like everyone else, he was more than happy to talk about his camp. I was sent there from Jack’s Shack as they share part of a trail. Paris plowed the first part of this trail and then into his own camp with his truck. He had to plow through at least 15 inches of snow. He mentioned another couple camps during his interview that he helped out by plowing their trails. One of the hunters from as far away as Georgia. A lot of hunters weren’t as fortunate and could not get to their camps on opening weekend of deer season.
On the same trail out to Bluff Creek Camp is the Adams’ Camp. Brian, a fortunate guest (as one has called himself that gets to use these camps regularly but is not the leaseholder) was also able to get to his camp. The leaseholders were not able to make it out to hunting camp this year however Brian had plenty of thoughts to share with me about his love for the camp and how it should be allowed to remain in its location.
