4th of July Parade Float

Wanted to share some photos from last weekend's 4th of July parade in Bruce Crossing. A few weeks ago I went for a walk and when I returned home I told Justin "I have a great or not so great idea." I wanted a float for the parade with a camp on it and he needed to build it for me. So the great boyfriend he is, he built it for me with the help of my dad and brother-in-law Dan (who also has a leased camp). They did a fantastic job. Took about 5 hours to build. I didn't do as fantastic as a job with the banners (which also took me probably 5 hours) but they're legible. I'm much better with a computer!

It would have been nice to take the float out to other parades across the area and I had thoughts of putting it in the Labor Day parade in Ontonagon. However, I already had plans to do the Mackinac Bridge walk with my sister this year and have wanted to do so for many years. The camp has proud new owners. My friend's three boys will make good use of it as a playhouse and hunting shack. They've already redecorated! Their grandfather also has a leased camp on the West Branch of the Ontonagon River.

My wonderful banners are still available if anyone else wants to use them to put on a float for Labor Day!

Update on the film. Still editing.

Taking a break from it this weekend. Working at the Hodag Country Music Festival for the third time as part of the JumboTron camera crew. Looking forward to a front row seat to the concerts, especially The Band Perry, Justin Moore and Chris Young.

I want to thank Carl Nykanen for the lumber for the camp float. Parade photos courtesy of Mr. Bill.

I really like watching parades, they just really make me happy. Here in our neighborhood, we host an annual parade where everyone can enter. We have different themes every year, which makes the entire event very exciting. Most of the people in our neighborhood are just too competitive, which also make it very interesting. Personally, I do not compete with them, but it is nice to see them compete with each other. I look forward to this year's annual parade.
